The British annexation of the Punjab in India was met with fierce resistance from the independent Sikhs. The Sikh Wars began with an attack on a British camp, and soon reached fever pitch. The Sikhs were formidable opponents, and the heat of battle forged mutual respect between the warring enemies - so much that the Sikhs allied themselves with the British in later battles. This story follows young Percy Graves, who meets his uncle in India and soon enlists to fight against the Sikhs and test his bravery.
