Robert Clive, a British captain, ensured peace in India under British domination in the latter half of the 18th century. He defended India with both indigenous and English forces from every intruder from the French to the Bengals, in a dual quest for empire and stability.
Charlie Marryat, a young Englishman, thinks that he will spend his time abroad working for the East India Company as a writer. However, after several adventures, his encounter with Clive changes the course of his travels. He turns from the pen, taking up the sword to fend of French invaders, and making a name for himself along the way.
