Ben Logan is an orphaned, homeless New York City newsboy and “baggage smasher.” One day, carrying the baggage of New Jersey farmer, Martin Moss, Ben overhears a conversation in which two men are planning to steal Mr. Moss’ money. Ben and Mr. Moss report this plan to the police and the con men are arrested.
Mr. Moss invites Ben to return to New Jersey with him. Through hard work and the support of Mr. Moss, Ben attempts at getting his life back together and finding the family he has never known.
