On his deathbed, Colonel Somers asks his nephew Thomas Somers to care for his grandson. He has even left a considerable amount of money to Somers for this purpose. The remainder of his estate has been willed to his grandson, Henry Selden, who lives with the Salisbury family.  Instead of acceding to his uncle’s wishes, Somers conspires with a man named Antonio Gaspar to kill Henry. Henry must uncover the truth and overcome the evil plot set against him so that he may actually look forward to his future.
