Unable to get along with his conniving
stepmother, Carl Crawford is forced to leave his home. For several days, Carl
travels with little money but somehow manages to survive. He has some exciting
experiences and encounters some bizarre people, eventually meeting Henry
Jennings, a successful furniture manufacturer in Milford. Mr. Jennings likes
Carl and hires him to work in his furniture plant. He sends Carl on a sales
trip that will take him to Albany, Buffalo, Cleveland and Chicago. While in
Chicago he learns information that will make not only his life better, but his
father’s also. Carl must act quickly, though, before any more damage is done.
